I Created a Time Card Calculator to Make Work Hour Tracking Easy
Accurately tracking time worked is something many of us deal with, whether you’re an hourly employee, a freelancer billing by the hour, or a business owner managing a team. But let's be honest: doing it manually or fumbling with spreadsheets every week can be frustrating and error-prone.
That’s exactly why I decided to build a Time Card Calculator, a free, simple, and intuitive tool that helps you calculate total hours worked quickly and accurately.
What Is the Time Card Calculator?
The Time Card Calculator is a web-based tool that lets you input your daily clock-in and clock-out times, break durations, and instantly calculates total hours worked. You can use it for a single shift or multiple days across a pay period.
Some key features include:
Input start and end times: Morning, evening, overnight—no problem.
Subtract unpaid breaks: Whether it's 30 minutes or an hour lunch, the calculator adjusts total hours accordingly.
Daily and weekly totals: Add multiple entries to see how many hours you've worked each day and across the week.
Mobile-friendly: Whether you’re on your phone or desktop, the interface adjusts for a smooth experience.
PDF Export: You can export your time sheet as a well formatted pdf.
💡 Why I Built It
Most of the time card calculators out there either:
Require a sign-up,
Show you tons of ads,
Or are overly complex for what should be a simple task.
I wanted to create something different, something clean, fast, and accessible to everyone. My goal was to take the mental load off anyone who needs to log their work hours and give them a tool they can rely on, without any barriers.
Whether you're a night-shift worker, a freelancer trying to invoice accurately, or just someone needing a better way to manage their schedule, this tool is for you.
🎯 Who Can Use It?
This calculator is helpful for:
Hourly employees filling out time sheets
Freelancers tracking billable hours
Employers or managers verifying work hours
Contractors and consultants keeping track of multiple gigs
Students managing internship hours
Basically, if your day involves punching in and out, you’ll find this tool useful.
🛠️ Built with Simplicity in Mind
I focused on clean UI, responsive design, and real-time calculation, so you get instant feedback as you type. No clutter. No distractions. Just a useful tool that does what it says.
This is just version 1. I have some features planned like:
Saving sessions in your browser
Weekly templates and recurring shifts
Total pay estimation based on hourly rates
If you have suggestions or features you’d like to see, I’d love to hear them!
